Jewelry Savvy Tips

RINGS
Our hands are important tools of communication. When we gesture, our hands speak volumes about our ideas and our emotions. Our hands are in almost constant motion. And nothing brings more attention to lovely, expressive hands than rings. Between the symbolism of some rings and the sheer pleasure of enjoying the view of a lovely bauble on one’s finger, it’s no wonder that a ring is a very popular jewelry purchase. You are more likely to purchase a ring for yourself than any other piece of jewelry. The rings you choose to wear are a significant reflection of your sense of aesthetics, what you hold dear, and your personality.

NECKLACES
Necklaces vary widely in appearance. They can be designed to fit tight against the neck or cascade down to the knees. Necklaces can frame the face, highlight a beautiful neck, fill in a neckline, or draw attention to the décolletage. More than any other item of jewelry, a necklace has an effect largely dependent upon the ensemble with which it is worn.

BRACELETS
A beautiful bracelet can draw attention to the lines and curves of a woman’s arms in a most flattering manner. Delightfully, as with rings, the bracelet wearer can see and enjoy the beauty of the bracelet without looking in a mirror. Bangles, cuffs, and link bracelets can be deceptively charming as they draw attention to the wrist but may also move up and down the arm.

EARRINGS
Earrings do much more than simply adorn your ears – so much in fact that we place them at the top of the hierarchy of jewelry every woman should own. Well chosen earrings can dangle seductively, communicate playfulness, or convey authority. They complete an ensemble. They can create a visual diversion. And with an up-do, they are practically a necessity. More important, earrings draw attention to the face. Whatever your style and personality, and whatever the occasion, whether you have short hair or long, and yes, even if you regularly wear glasses, there are earrings that will flatter your face.

MEN ONLY
Men’s jewelry is functional – tie clips, cuff links, collar pins, shirt studs, and watches all have utilitarian functions. But wearing jewelry is primarily about personality and attitude. Don’t be afraid to experiment. Try on styles you wouldn’t normally wear and see how they work on you. Consider checking out a variety of metals, including such choices as platinum or titanium, for wedding bands and other jewelry.

GIFT CARD
Give the gift of jewelry with the confidence it will be enjoyed and worn for years to come. We’ve seen cases where a husband was afraid to (and would not!) shop for jewelry for his wife because she “never likes anything I pick out for her.” While this may be true, she won’t have that problem in the future because he won’t be shopping for jewelry for her anymore. Uncertain? A gift card may be the ideal choice, enabling a self-purchase that is sure to hit the mark.
